Started by a life long snowmobiler from Western New York, RLF2 Enterprises LLC was founded on April 15th, 2008. While in business for just under 2 years, RLF2 Enterprises LLC was created to take over for growing R.F. Trail Services that was founded December 5th, 2005.
The beginnings of the business were rooted in snowmobiling trips around western New York, the Tug Hill Plateau and in the mountains of East Burke, Vermont. While on these snowmobiling adventures the founder of GoRideNY.com found many signs to be confusing and misleading. Every junction had would tell riders which way to travel for food, fuel and other items, but most did not tell you how far away they were. This was all about the same time that New York was moving to GPS mapping of trails for reporting mileages.
The first thought was how can signage be improved while keeping costs to the clubs low. The result: Allow R.F. Trail Services exclusive advertising rights at trail junctions in exchange for FREE GPS mapping for the clubs. Several junctions sign prototypes were built and refined until a finished product was ready for market. This idea was first pitched to the Marilla Sno-Mob board of directors who liked the idea and along gave it approval.
The program was successful the first year and R.F Trail Services received lots of great feedback from the sign program. Each sign contained the junction number, the next junction in each direction with GPS mileages, and business advertisers with GPS mileages to their location.
The 2007-2008 season would prove much more difficult as snow was hard to find. To keep our customers on board with the program we added the web site "RFTrails.com". Here we had information to help riders plan their trips and give them access to the businesses on the trails of the Marilla Sno-Mob.
It was decided in early 2008 that R.F. Trail Services would expand to all of New York as a completely web based resource for riders. GoRideNY.com was born. Today we strive to give New York's snowmobilers a place to get lots of information all in one place and to help Clubs advertise their events & fundraisers.
